For my birthday ordered me a bike from Walmart. I asked for it to be delivered to me unassembled so I can learn to do it myself. My reasoning was if something needed a minor or adjustment, instead of paying money to a bike shop to fix it. I would be able to fix it myself since I live on a fixed income as I don’t have a lot of extra money.
My bike was delivered via UPS. It was doubled boxed, and some of the fun was getting it out of both boxes. The bike came partly assembled, so I didn’t have to put the whole thing tougher from scratch.
My Mom going to buy the tools for the bike, but until I got the instructions from the bike, she wouldn’t know what tools to buy. I have a friend in my building that had tools but they were they were the wrong type. She had Imperil System (inches) but the bike needed the Metric System (center/millimeters) to put the bike together. I bought some Allen wrenches (L shaped) local dollar store but they didn’t have the box wrenches that I need,
After going through this, I realized if that the world had one measurement system, I would not had the issues I did. One system would allow us to communicate easily. I is a small change bit significant since it would also allow us to be part of the same community.
